Water, wood, fire, earth and metal are a metaphor for the cycle of life, emotions, seasons and the light.

Fire stands for love, summer, red, north…
Earth stands for thought, yellow, center…
Metal stands for sadness, autumn, white, gray, east…
Water stands for fear, winter, darkness, south…
Throughout time and place, humans have tried to grasp the universe. The vision of 5 elements emerged in China more than 2.000 years ago (五行) and became the foundation of martial arts, politics, medicine and philosophy of a vast region. The growing interest in trade and alternative medicine is bringing us closer to these distant concepts. The aim of the exhibition is to get closer to the Far East which is already part of our daily life.
To be able to participate in the exhibition, pictures should be:
- received no later than August 15th, 2008 in the Flickr group 5 elements
- in landscape format
